This book introduces the reader to 4 young adolescent boys, Gordy, Teddy, Chris and Vern who live in the quite small Maine town of Castle Rock back in the 1950's. Vern discovers that there is a dead body in the woods so the four of them embark on a hike to view the body. They are hoping to achieve Media Celebrity Status if they are successful in their quest. This book is full of appalling filthy lanaguage which I do not remember how young boys talked back in the 1950's. This book reads more like a \'Sensitivity Training Encounter\' book which was so popular back in the 1970's. This book is set in a time and place which only exists in the author's imagination and bears no resemblance to Reality as most people know it. I give this book 5 stars because yet again King has tried to reclaim his Crown as the Number One Horror writer in Modern Day America which is a valiant attempt to become the promising author that he was back in his early days of writing 25 years ago.
