This book, FGV FinTechs & Law, is a result from two international modules conceived and carried out during the long period of restrictions due to the COVID Pandemic. The work brings together the contribution of several professional experts and faculty members both from FGV and from its international partner institutions. Prof. Padua Lima and Prof. Vianna, enhancing the FGV tradition in participating and analyzing the domestic and international financial markets, understood that it was opportune to reflect on the new wave of financial innovations that emerged during and immediately after the 2008 global financial crisis. It is important to point out that in Brazil the financial reform carried out shortly after the Stabilization Plan in 1995 avoided the more harmful consequences of the 2008 global crisis and provided the capacity both to accompany international financial innovations and to develop new domestic outcomes.
