The City College Architectural Center is a research center housed within City College s Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture.The center offers technical assistance and advocacy support to not-for-profit community organizations engaged in improving the quality of life for city residents. CCAC professionals and students have produced educational materials, exhibits of design changes and urban transformation, conducted planning studies in how to capitalize on the heritage of different areas, created comprehensive redevelopment plans and urban design
studies.This book compiles the best and most significant of these projects. Many of them involve historically underserved neighborhoods and groups in the New York metropolitan area. Communities, students and faculty members benefit from the CCAC s work.
