The Lonely Man is a novel with somewhat regional characteristics, since most of the story takes place in the coastal region of Bahia. It is related to the revision that the main character makes of his entire existence on his last day of life, in a mere twilight. He relives all the events and his emotions in an absolutely perfect replica, where nothing was altered, nor could it be. Here, the phenomenon of expansion of time unfolds in all its richness, leaving to the reader, beyond the pleasure of a pastime that all good reading offers, above all, leaves something to reflect upon.
