In this volume we present experiments with the use of New Communication Information Technologies and in Online Education Training Programs for professionals, as well as the training of young professionals in undergraduate courses at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Aiming greater contact with projects involving Online Education we conducted research on different situations, such as adopting an online learning platform by a consortium of public universities in Rio de Janeiro, called CEDERJ, which had the need for careful monitoring of the academic process involving virtual learning, teaching issues and administrative management. This required the adoption of tools provided with the flexibility to adapt to the diverse needs. Secondly, it presents an analysis of the functional specification for the development of a virtual learning environment based on the Moodle platform. The importance of this study lies in the fact that it is a management system supported a project of free and open software, which can be freely accessed and modified as necessary. The perception of the importance of information portals as immersion spaces on the Internet, able to connect individuals from different places and backgrounds, providing general or specialized information on different themes, was another important theme investigated by our research group and presented in this book.
